A Rejection letter on New Year's Day!

Guess I shouldn't have expected anything less from the management company that supposedly provides "Royal Service".

I applied as a lark on Dec 30th, knowing full well they wouldn't give me the time of day. Especially after the way they reacted to my presence at the last networking event. Nervous, jerky, yet assuring me to keep applying, while trying to get out of the conversation as quickly as possible, even though no one was waiting at their booth.

They proved me right! They "say" I'm not red-flagged, but I know that maybe digitally I'm not cause they have no legal reasons, but in their minds... Yeah. And that's OK,because they are red-flagged in my mind too.

I just wanted to prove to myself what I already was pretty certain of. They aren't worth my time, nor worthy of my experience, but that experience is something they don't want. Too much knowledge, I might ask questions. I might have opinions contrary to theirs. They know their flavor of corporate kool-aid isn't one I would swallow quietly.

The only good thing is that I found an article posted by one of the RDs that is actually decently written.

The world runs on Early Bird Standard Time

Everyone else is thriving at 7am.
I'm still negotiating consciousness.

2. Society thinks staying up late = lazy

Apparently productivity only counts if it happens before noon.

3. Morning appointments are a hate crime

Dentist at 8am? Jail.

4. Coffee becomes a personality trait

And in my case… decaf. A personal tragedy.

5. My body clock is a chaotic gremlin

2am is for intrusive thoughts, not sleep.

6. The guilt

I didn’t do anything wrong, but waking up at noon feels like a felony.

7. Nighttime peace vs. daytime responsibility

I peak when the world powers down. Fantastic timing.

8. Everyone assumes i can just “fix it”

“Go to bed earlier!”
Wow, thanks Mom, I’ve never considered that revolutionary strategy...
especially from the same woman who once tried everything short of bringing in the entire Iroquois Confederacy to “flip” my sleep schedule, and consulted a parade of baffled shrinks who basically shrugged and said, “Buh? She’s half-back-asswards.”

9. No one to talk to because they’re all asleep

I finally want human interaction, and the universe says:
“Too bad, sweetheart, the world clocked out.”
And the ones who didn’t?
They have better things to do than talk to a bored 55-year-old woman trying not to lose her mind at 1:47am.
Night owls respect each other’s silence like it’s an international peace treaty.

10. LinkedIn has apparently switched to India/Nigeria Standard Time

At 2am, my only notifications are recruiters from three continents away offering jobs that pay in “exposure” and maybe a sandwich.

11. My actual network? Dead to the world

I post at night → crickets.
I post during the day → judgmental crickets.

I am a woman who has been knocked down more times than anyone ever warned me about, yet somehow I still get up, brush off the dust, and keep going because stopping is not an option. 🙎

I am the daughter caring for a mother, my hero🦸, whose health keeps me awake at night, the wife trying to hold a household together on grit and fumes, and the job seeker applying, hoping, emailing, waiting, refreshing, and trying again (and again, and again, and again ad nauseam) even when it feels like the world is running out of doors to knock on.🚪

I am the Licensed Community Association Manager who spent 20 plus years keeping buildings standing, budgets balanced, residents calm, vendors honest, and Board politics from eating communities alive. I know what it means to solve problems no one sees, carry responsibility no one appreciates, and keep going when there is no applause and definitely no backup.🏢

I am creative, sarcastic, exhausted, stubborn, and still hopeful, sometimes against all logic.
Honestly, I have no idea why hope keeps showing up, but here we are. 🥹

I am fluent in many dialects: trucker, construction, sailor, blue haired old woman, Alzheimer’s panicked residents, and corporate nonsense.
It is a gift. It is a curse. It is every day.
Basically, I am Google Translate for chaos. 😂

I am a coffee addict who now has to drink decaf, which feels like a personal attack from the universe. ☕

I am a full-blown cat freak who believes felines are tiny, chaotic geniuses, even though I love every creature with a heartbeat, as long as it does not have more than two eyes and four legs. 🐈‍⬛🐕🐁🐿️🐇
Although in my cat’s case, he is a full-on lard butt and I love him anyway. (I do like raccoon too Alex, never fear🦝)

I am a person who wants stability, not luxury. (Although, winning the lottery would be nice...) 🎉

I am someone who knows exactly what I bring to the table but am still waiting for the right table to pull out a chair. 🪑

And underneath all the overwhelming fear of losing my house, health scares, resilience, humor, sarcasm, and heartbreak…🏡🤕😃😂😝💔

I am still here.
Slightly unhinged, questioning my sanity daily, and held together by caffeine, sarcasm, and whatever hope has refused to leave.🙃🤪

Still me.

You said “talk about literally anything,” and I took that personally, mostly because I’m on cup number three, and at this point my bloodstream is 80% espresso and 20% poor decisions.

Let’s start with the basics: I firmly believe coffee should count as a deductible business expense. It’s not a luxury; it’s an operational requirement. Without caffeine, I wouldn’t just miss deadlines — I’d forget what day it is and probably start introducing myself as “Pending Review.” Every “quick coffee catch-up” somehow turns into an unpaid group therapy session where two adults with Wi-Fi and unresolved trauma talk about impostor syndrome, layoffs, and how their boss uses the phrase “circle back” like it’s a religious chant.

And then there are the bad ideas, the ones that sound brilliant after the second latte. Like starting a podcast at 2 a.m., signing up for a “fun run” that turns out to be 10 miles uphill, or messaging a recruiter with “so how’s the corporate chaos treating you?” just to feel alive.

By cup four, I’ve made peace with my choices. Because let’s be honest, half my career milestones happened because caffeine whispered, “Do it,” and I didn’t have the energy to argue.

So yeah, let’s talk about literally anything. Bonus points if it’s fueled by coffee, chaos, and that fragile confidence that only exists between sips two and six.

I'm not sure how The Algorithm decided I'd enjoy your posts, but they started appearing in my feed shortly after my career reboot about a year ago. After nearly four decades at General Motors (most recently running their global competitor intelligence activity), I received an unsigned email sent at 5.07am indicating I was no longer part of the GM family. Recruiter Joel Lalgee saw my subsequent very brief LinkedIn post, figured out I had been working at GM longer than he was alive, and made a video--now at 2 million views. That got my story to the front page of USAToday's Money section, the UK's Guardian, the Hindustan Times, and Reddit's "recruiting hell" discussion. A year later, my daily driver is a new Mini Cooper and I'm dabbling in consulting, writing, and speaking about the auto industry under the AutoPerspectives banner. And everyone I've talked to who's still at GM tells me about the "Hunger Games" culture--so I may not like the way I was shown the door, but I'm certainly glad I'm not there.

They say every superhero has an origin story. Mine didn’t begin in a laboratory or a back alley. It began in a cubicle — somewhere between the sound of a paper jam and the soft, collective sigh of a Monday morning staff meeting. My powers didn’t come from gamma rays or alien DNA. They came from caffeine, sarcasm, and one too many corporate icebreakers that asked me to “share a fun fact about myself.”

I used to think I was ambitious. Turns out, I was just sleep-deprived and deeply committed to pretending I had a five-year plan. Like so many others, I entered the world of professional adulthood bright-eyed, hopeful, and freshly armed with a résumé that still had bullet points like “strong communication skills” and “team player.” I believed in mission statements. I thought “company culture” meant something other than free donuts on Fridays. I thought my email signature meant I mattered.

It didn’t take long for the illusion to crack. Somewhere between my third “urgent” meeting that solved nothing and my fourth PowerPoint deck that said even less, I began to realize the truth: corporate life wasn’t a career. It was a long-running improv show where everyone was pretending to know what they were doing. My job title changed a few times, my cubicle got smaller, my coffee stronger, and my tolerance for buzzwords dropped to zero. But I stayed, like so many of us do, because that’s what adults are supposed to do — stay busy, stay tired, stay polite.

Then one day, I started writing. It wasn’t planned. It was survival. I wrote jokes about job hunting, about burnout, about recruiters who vanish faster than free pizza in the breakroom. I wrote about the absurdity of pretending everything was “great!” when your inbox was on fire. I turned my exhaustion into entertainment, my frustration into punchlines. Somehow, people related. Turns out, the world was full of professionals barely hanging on — people using caffeine and humor as the glue that kept their sanity together.

My posts started spreading across LinkedIn. The platform built for productivity suddenly became my stage for professional stand-up. I was sarcastic, unfiltered, and maybe a little too honest. I said the things people wanted to say in meetings but couldn’t because someone from HR might be listening. And for a while, it worked. People laughed, shared, and tagged their equally exhausted coworkers. I became a small voice in a sea of corporate noise — the person saying out loud that maybe “synergy” wasn’t a personality.

And then, one day, the inevitable happened.

LinkedIn decided they’d had enough. Apparently, I’d crossed the line — the invisible one between “relatable” and “too real.” Maybe it was the joke about recruiters. Maybe it was the post about corporate nonsense disguised as “team culture.” Or maybe it was just the simple fact that the truth makes people uncomfortable. Either way, I was banned. Silenced. Erased. My profile vanished overnight like an employee quietly laid off before a long weekend.

At first, I laughed. Then I stared at my coffee cup and thought, Well… now what?

And that’s when it hit me — if the platforms couldn’t handle the sarcasm, I’d just build my own. So I did.

Caffeinated Sarcasm was born not out of strategy, but rebellion. It’s a digital refuge for the overworked, the underappreciated, and the chronically caffeinated. A place where we can say the things we actually mean. Where “I’m fine” translates to “I’m hanging on by a thread, but at least my coffee’s strong.” Where burnout isn’t a weakness — it’s a shared language.

This isn’t another motivational space filled with hustle quotes and productivity hacks. It’s the opposite. It’s a breakroom for your soul. A place to sit down, sip something strong, and laugh at the sheer absurdity of pretending to have it all figured out.

I didn’t create Caffeinated Sarcasm because I wanted to be an influencer or build a brand. I created it because I was tired of editing my personality to fit into someone else’s platform. Tired of algorithms deciding what kind of humor was “professional.” Tired of pretending that sarcasm and sincerity couldn’t coexist.

Here, they do.

Here, we don’t pretend. We laugh, we vent, we commiserate. We talk about burnout like it’s weather — inevitable, shared, survivable. We tell stories that HR would probably delete. We speak freely because the truth, when told with humor, hits harder than any corporate keynote ever could.

Caffeinated Sarcasm is more than a website. It’s a rebellion with a coffee addiction. It’s every after-hours group chat that keeps you sane. It’s the sound of your inner voice when you read yet another “exciting opportunity” from a recruiter who didn’t read your résumé. It’s a reminder that maybe we’re not the problem — maybe the world is just a little too allergic to honesty.

So yes, I got banned. But I didn’t disappear. I just moved the conversation somewhere better — somewhere honest, sarcastic, and unapologetically human.

And if you’ve ever felt too tired to be optimistic, too smart to stay quiet, or too caffeinated to sleep — welcome home.

This is Caffeinated Sarcasm. This is me.
Still banned, still tired, still laughing — and finally, exactly where I belong.

Hey legends, misfits, and fellow caffeine survivors —
It finally happened. After years of toeing the line between “inspirational professional” and “walking HR violation with a sense of humor,” LinkedIn gave me the boot.

Yep. I got banned. Exiled. Digitally escorted out of the world’s most passive-aggressive networking site.
Apparently, satire about recruiters, HR, and corporate absurdity doesn’t pair well with a platform that thrives on “humblebrags” and “open to work” emojis. Who knew?

They called it a “violation of community guidelines.”
I call it “creative expression with mild trauma.”

So, rather than beg for reinstatement or write an emotional post about my “journey to healing through gratitude,” I did the only logical thing a sarcastic person with too much caffeine and too little supervision could do…
I built my own forum.

Welcome to Caffeinated Sarcasm — my new home, your new addiction, and the internet’s most dysfunctional breakroom.

☕ Why This Exists

Because the world doesn’t need another platform telling you to “network intentionally.”
It needs a place for people who have mentally quit three jobs but still show up.
A place where humor, exhaustion, and honesty can coexist — preferably over coffee and mild chaos.

This forum was born out of burnout, built on sarcasm, and powered by caffeine. It’s for every person who’s been “ghosted by HR,” “voluntold for a team-building event,” or “asked to do just one more quick thing before the weekend.”

Caffeinated Sarcasm is for:

The corporate warriors who survived 872 meetings that should’ve been emails.

The freelancers who pretend to “enjoy the freedom” while crying over invoices.

The creative insomniacs who live off caffeine, deadlines, and delusion.

The job seekers who now have PhDs in “Applicant Tracking System Rejection Studies.”

💬 What You’ll Find Here

Think of this place as a hybrid between a comedy club, group therapy, and a coffee-fueled rebellion.

Here, you can:

Vent about work without pretending to be “grateful for the opportunity.”

Share your funniest career horror stories and survival hacks.

Roast the absurdity of modern professionalism in peace.

Connect with other caffeinated humans who speak fluent sarcasm.

There are categories for everything — from “HR Horror Stories” and “Meetings That Could’ve Been Emails” to “Burnout Support” and “The Raccoon Lounge” (our unofficial mascot for dumpster-fire energy).

No algorithms. No “engagement pods.” No inspirational strangers commenting, “Love this energy!” on your pain.
Just real people, real laughter, and a community that understands that “I’m fine” actually means “I’m holding it together with caffeine and Wi-Fi.”

🔥 What’s Next

This is just the beginning. The plan is to build a caffeine-powered empire of chaos, comedy, and community.

Coming soon:

Weekly sarcastic news updates.

Member spotlights (aka “Meet the legends keeping this circus alive”).

A newsletter that delivers caffeine, chaos, and existential humor straight to your inbox.

And, yes, a line of Caffeinated Sarcasm merch — because nothing says “coping” like a hoodie that reads “Fueled by coffee and bad decisions.”

💻 The Vibe

If you came here looking for productivity tips, you’re lost.
If you came here to laugh at the absurdity of adulthood, welcome home.
This forum is your digital sanctuary — part comedy club, part confessional, part caffeine rehab center.

We don’t chase followers or “optimize content.”
We tell stories. We roast reality. We turn chaos into connection.

So grab your mug, lower your expectations, and settle in.
You’ve officially joined the community LinkedIn couldn’t handle.
